Format
1. Posting can be done in a novel ‘story-book style’ format or a script format. I however prefer novel style posting as they are sometimes easier to understand and follow. Many sims use the 'hanging tag' or open ended style of posting, we on the Fury try to refrain from that. We only use hanging tags on certain occasions.
2. Players should role-play only their character with great detail. Any interaction with other members/officers is encouraged but please ask their permission first – don’t role-play someone else’s character without talking with the player first. A joint post is the recommended way to interact with other characters.
3. Never role play the CO or XO positions, or give responses for them, posts with the CO or XO should be done as a Joint Post. (JP)
4. There might be times when there are exceptions to the “Never write another person’s character” rule, but you must check with the GM (me) before doing that.
5. As a general rule please follow the general plot-line in progress. I encourage people to make up their own plot lines and stories. But there are two kinds of plot-lines Major and Minor

MAJOR PLOTLINES: Any plot-line involving more than three of four crewmembers and can effect the outcome existing storyline. Any ideas for Major plot ideas should be run by the GM before you put it into play.
MINOR PLOTLINES: Any plot line that effects less than three characters and will not affect the outcome of the current main story line, you can create and start these plot lines anytime you wish. I have no problem with it. However, minor plot lines can become major plot line if people join in…if you see this happening, drop me and e-mail to let me know where you are going with it.
6. You should read through all of the Crew Bios on the website to familiarize yourself with the other characters that you will be interacting with. It is a good idea to read through the last several Data Logs to get a feel for the style, and frequency of the other players posting into the game. That way you can get familiar with the characters (stars) of the SIM, and also come up to speed on the current story line.
7. For new players, sometimes when you enter a game several plot lines may be going at once, everyone wants to jump so, so to avoid headaches, e-mail the characters involved in a plot line letting them know you would like to ‘join in’ More than likely they will willingly include you….the Fury sim is famous for joint posts. Many of these plotlines are planned out in a lot of detail. Just jumping in without at least finding out what is going on can mess up the story.
8. On many sims some players tend to develop what I like to call "hero" or "save the ship" syndrome. Remember we are trying to portray realistic people, people have faults. When a problem arises in a plot line, don't feel like you have to be the first one to 'save the day!' Try to keep your officers abilities in line with his or her job on the ship...for example, a medical officer would have no idea how to fix a broken warp core. Each person should have his or her area of expertise. To boil it donw to simple lingo....No Uber-officers!
